I am an 18 yr old asian with type I epicanthial folds and mildy hooded double eyelids. Six months ago, I tried to correct my hooded double eyelids by using double eyelid and glue. I used both of them daily, and even wore them to sleep hoping that the new crease created by the double eyelid and glue will become permanent. 2 weeks ago, I gave up. My natural double eyelid crease, however, has yet to appear. My eyelids have been monolids for 2 weeks now, with moderate sagging and fine wrinkles.

Using eyelid tape at the height of your original supratarsal crease (double eyelid) may help to restore your original fold.

this is a common occurrence.  If she simply give it more time it will most likely return to its original anatomy.  However in some cases it does not.  Part of this may be due to minor injuries to the soft tissues underneath the skin including some of the collagen and fat.  Additionally, you are 18 and the appearance of your lids will likely change as you age whether you have put glue there to reshape the crease or not.  I would give it another 3 months of observation and if you don't see any changes then get a consultation with an experienced Asian eyelid surgeon.  for now I would probably recommend against using any other tape or glueBest of luckChase Lay, MDDouble board-certified facial plastic surgeon and Asian facial plastic specialist
