What's precision TX & does it work for the turkey neck? (Photos)

Question

I want to rid of my turkey neck I'm 59 don't have a real good picture showing the neck. I went to to PS in Reading one tells me that the precisiontx will work for me and the other tells me that the mini neck lift is better. I don't want to see more sagging skin. Any recommendation for a PS close to Reading PA

Precision is a 1440nm Nd:YAG laser by Cynosure. I used to have this device but I got rid of it because the results were not very good, especially given the amount of postop downtime. For skin tightening, jowels and "turkey neck," in the non-invasive technology realm, you're much better off with radiofrequency treatments such as ThermiTight/ThermiSmooth or Viva. It's difficult to tell from your pictures. I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for improving a turkey neck, in those who are candidates and depending can be combined with a neck lift at the same time. Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with thermage/ultherapy/exilis or coolsculpting. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thanks for your question. I think that PrecisionTx would be a reasonable solution for you. PrecisionTx uses a laser to remove excess fat and stimulate collagen production in your skin to tighten up the neck. While the results are not as good as you would get with a formal face lift, may patients experience a nice improvement. There is a lot less down time than with a traditional lift, it costs a lot less, and it can be done under local anesthesia. Good luck!

Precision TX is useful for tightening heavier necks containing fat.  It can be done under local anesthesia alone. I use it in addition to face and necklifts in selected cases.  It is a useful lesser invasive procedure. Minilifts help the upper neck or early neck aging. Hard to tell in your case without the neck photos as to what would be the best.

I will say that your pictures are not ideal, however, from what I can see I think that Precision Tx would do a very good job and give you the results your looking for.  The price and downtime are very reasonable.  The laser energy applied to the tissue will cause tightening of loose skin and any areas of residual fat can also be sculpted using liposuction.  There will be obvious results immediately.  Keep in mind that It will take about 6 months to see the full benefit of this treatment.  When weighing the cost of the procedure vs the desired outcome I suspect this will be your best option.

Turkey neck with a band requires a mini neck lift. There are lots of noninvasive options that just are not best for those who have bands. Often, mini neck lifts can be done in the office setting with minimal social down time and are just as affordable with better more predictable results than Thermage, Ultherapy, Pelleve', Kybella, Coolsculpting and even the upcoming Sculpsure frame for the chin/neck area in those with the muscle band.
