I had my 305cc textured gummy implants placed under the muscle almost 10 years ago in 2014. So far I don't have any complications or capsular contracture symptoms. I no longer want to have implants inside me. My question is can it be done under local or local with iv sedation? I don't particularly want to go under general anesthesia if possible. Thank you so much for your feedback in advance.
Answer: Anesthesia type Hello thank you for your question. Please watch the attached video to answer your question. I recommend to have a proper explant surgery with capsulectomy, to have it done under local with IV sedation.

Answer: Recommend going under general anesthesia for this procedure Removal of breast implants, intact or ruptured, may have positive implications if patients are symptomatic. A constellation of symptoms associated with breast implant illness, and autoimmune disease are considered when treating patients who have breast implants and are concerned about foreign body reaction. In our office, we begin this journey with a consideration of symptoms and exclusion of obvious autoimmune problems. In many of our patients, en bloc removal of breast implants with capsulectomy is important and beneficial. Further clinical evidence about breast implant illness is evolving and will continue to guide treatment. I would suggest removal if there is a possibility of foreign body reaction. Answer: Implant removal Some implants can be removed under IV sedation, however that must be decided on an individual basis. If a lift or capsule removal is needed general anesthesia is recommended for your comfort and safety. Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more about your procedure and options.

Answer: Removal Yes, the implants can be removed under local anesthesia with oral or IV sedation, but removing all the capsule, especially the posterior part, may not be possible except under general anesthesia. Some capsule should be able to be removed as well.
