Implants for 4 months and then had them removed. It has been 6 months and I have animation deformity. My PS said he reattached the muscle but from his notes it looks like he just put a couple of sutures in. What are my options for muscle repair and how successful does it tend to be? Are there significant risks with muscle reattachment?
Answer: Muscle reattachment Dear Summer1118, generally speaking, there is no need for muscle reattachments. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Muscle reattachment options after breast implant removal? Hello @Summer1118, thank you for your question. I understand your concerns regarding breast animation deformity. It's possible that the underlying cause of your symptoms could be related to your pectoral muscle adhering to the chest wall. However, a thorough consultation and examination would be necessary to determine the cause of the problem and treat it. I link a testimonial video. Best wishes! Alan Gonzalez MD. Answer: Muscle reattachment options after breast implant removal cases of animation deformity following breast implant removal, muscle repair may be an option to address the issue. However, the success and potential risks of muscle reattachment can vary depending on individual circumstances. Muscle repair aims to reattach the pectoralis muscle, which may have been partially or completely detached during the initial implant surgery. This can help alleviate animation deformity and improve the aesthetic appearance of the breasts during muscle contraction. The success of muscle repair largely depends on factors such as the extent of muscle detachment, the skill of the surgeon, and individual healing abilities. In some cases, muscle repair can effectively resolve the animation deformity, resulting in improved breast contour and movement. To determine the best course of action, it is recommended to consult with a qualified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast surgeries and has experience with revision procedures who can assess your specific case, review your surgical notes, and discuss the options available to address the animation deformity, including the potential for muscle repair. I hope this helps, best of luck !
