I'm 67 with a fair complexion, freckles, and active. Even though I play sports and do a treadmill the skin above the knees is unattractive and crepey. There's a bit on my shins too. What are the options to improve this? Thank you
Answer: For Crepey Skin, Consider Injectable HA Skin Boosters, Profhilo, & Manual Microneedling In many cases, crepey skin can be treated much like stretch marks. The support system for the overlying skin can be improved via the use of injectable HA skin boosters and/or Profhilo and the surface crepeyness/crrinkleyness can be addressed via manual, professionally performed microneedling (no need for the added expense and risks of RF microneedling). No doubt in your search for treatments you will be hawked this or that, expensive, supposedly "next big thing," fraxel laser or RF gizmo. Just note that the hard science to support the use of any of these here-today-gone-tomorrow, "bells and whistles" lags woefully behind the hard science to support their use. So, buyer beware when considering these. You would be wise to consult with an experienced, board certified cosmetic dermatologist and best of luck.

Answer: Morpheus8 will tighten the skin restore collagen and elastin This area is a problem to treat in any other way. The scar is not satisfactory and the skin may stretch out without the Morpheus8 treatment to improve collagen and elastin. The reason the wrinkles have formed is because there is a need for a wide range of movement and the skin has stretched and lost its elasticity. We see similar problems around the elbow and also on the trunk in the bra fold area.

Answer: Crepey Skin Thank you for your question. It would be easier to give you an answer with pictures or during a consultation but we have many patients do a series or morpheus8 for crepey skin on their knees and thighs. Morpheus helps to lift and smoothen the area.

Answer: Morpheus8 would be a great option to help tighten loose skin on the knees and thighs. Morpheus 8 is a non-invasive skin and soft tissue tightening treatment that is consistently amazing in our patients. We use the Morpheus to exact fractional induced RF into the skin or tissue in order to tighten collagen and stimulate contraction of the tissue. For acne scars, it is quite useful to build collagen in patients who have atrophic scars but is not very productive for ice-pick scars which require TCA Cross. For tissue tightening, Morpheus is ideal for the face and neck and we often combine it with CO2 laser or Ultherapy to further enhance results. Chemical peels and skin resurfacing should be done at least 5 to 7 days after, but can be performed earlier, depending on treatment severity. Avoid exfoliating skin treatments before Morpheus and expect a period of 2-4 weeks for skin contraction to set in. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Crepey skin on knees and thighs recommendations I would recommend doing a combination of heating devices, both under the skin with Renuvion, and microneedling with radio frequency, like the Morpheus, on the outside of the skin. We do recommend three rounds of Morpheus to achieve the optimal result. However, if the skin is significantly loose, there is always a chance that it would be better to remove the skin. We have a lot of success using devices as mentioned above.
