Dr. Summer was very pleasant to work with. He assisted Dr. Deal with my mommy makeover. He was very kind, knowledgeable and made me feel super comfortable before and after my procedure. I’m thrilled with my results and would do it again 100x over!
Yes, you should be able to see results by six months as the inflammation should be largely resolved by then. If your results aren't what you expected, I would recommend having a discussion about options and/or the surgery itself with your surgeon.
In general, it is always best to fix a diastasis when doing an umbilical hernia because the hernia will likely recur above where you had the hernia fixed. Many hernia experts also agree that fixing a diastasis, if present, is essential for a good, long term hernia repair.
This can be a complex case and every patient is different! This would be a great question to ask one on one with your surgeon to get an accurate answer for your specific needs.
I would recommend doing a combination of heating devices, both under the skin with Renuvion, and microneedling with radio frequency, like the Morpheus, on the outside of the skin. We do recommend three rounds of Morpheus to achieve the optimal result. However, if the skin is significantly loose, there is always a chance that it would be better to remove the skin. We have a lot of success using devices as mentioned above.
With VASER-assisted liposuction we rarely have to give a blood transfusion. Now, keep in mind, that there have been instances in VASER liposuction where transfusions have been required. In our practice to decrease this risk we have a couple of things that we do. First of all, we get a thorough set of labs before the surgery to make sure that your blood counts, electrolytes, bleeding numbers, etc. are normal. If you are anemic preoperatively, then you may need to do some measures such as taking iron to help increase your blood counts prior to surgery. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that she would not need a blood transfusion. However, in our practice, it is extremely rare that we need to provide a blood transfusion. Second, we do use a solution that contains medication’s to help decrease the chance that you have significant bleeding both in the tumescent solution (this is the solution that helps us do the liposuction) and we also give a medication IV. Hope this helps.
