I've been on 100 mg of spironolactone for acne for about 2 years now and it works great. However, I recently had a mommy makeover, 12 days ago and read today where diuretics are bad for patients after abdominalplasty. Should I stop the spironolactone? Or is my daily dosage safe? My concern is regarding the swelling that normally comes with abdominalplasty. I don't want to contribute to the swelling. Of course I will touch base wirh my PS, but wanted to ask the RS community. Thank you.

The only reason anyone would propose twilight sedation for this extensive surgery is their lack of an adequate facility and personnel to provide a general anesthetic and/or their lack of privileges to do this extensive procedure in a hospital or free standing surgery center.
This could be swelling from the surgery. It is possible that you have had fat in this area prior to your surgery and that it has been accentuated by your procedure, which may have included liposuction of your flanks, but not this region. Please see your surgeon who can best advise you.
