I have an infection in my face after Juvederm Vollure -- Is this a biofilm? (Photos)

This would be early for a biofilm.  You need to have the filler removed first.  This will help if it is either infection or just an inflammatory nodule.  Doxycycline is a good choice in this situation.  Should use for about 2 weeks and then re-evaluate. 

It's difficult to tell from your pictures. I recommend following up with your Doctor. If necessary, the Juvederm can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. It may take a series of treatments. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

It's hard to tell for sure if this infection represents a biofilm but it is certainly a possibility. In addition to the antibiotics you do need to have the filler removed using hyaluronidase. The reversal of the filler will lead to quicker resolution of the infection. 

It is difficult to tell the exactly what's going on and the cause of your infection which I'm sure is quite unsettling for you. I don't believe you will need 3 to 12 months of antibiotics. I think treating your face with hyaluronidase on top of antibiotics will accelerate the healing process and the problem that you have. the first thing you need to do is dissolve the product. If this is s biofilm around the filler as long as ou have the filler you will have the reaction.
