It's been three days post getting Juvaderm fillers and one side of my upper lip seems to be a lot more swollen and firm than the other. I read taking arnicare pills can help with the discomfort, is this accurate? If not, what else should I do?
Answer: Swelling after Juvederm Arnica, icing, and cold compresses can help swelling. Swelling should resolve in 1-2 weeks. I hope this helps.

Answer: Arnica supplements might help with swelling. Congratulations on your fillers. For some people, taking arnica supplements may help to reduce swelling and bruising, so it’s worth a try. You can also apply an ice pack to the area for no more than 20 minutes at a time to help with swelling. Over the next several days, you should start to notice significant improvements in swelling and bruising as your final results begin to take shape.

Answer: Lip Filler Hello,Thank you for your question. Arnica is primarily used to reduce bruising. Icing the area will help with the swelling. You also can ask your physician if they can provide you with something like a water pill to help reduce the swelling. That needs to be discussed with your physician first to make sure you don't have any health issues that would stop you from using that. Swelling should subside within a couple weeks. Good luck!

Answer: Lip augmentation After practicing plastic surgery for many years, I have come to a personal conclusion that arnica products do not do anything to help with the swelling or bruising. But again this is my opinion. I don't believe there have been any studies done that show that there is a different reaction when arnica is being used versus when it's not. I think swelling in the lips is related primarily to the patient's reactions and the technique The Physician is using. My patients rarely have swelling past 4 days following the treatment. Good luck from New York City

Answer: Arnicare Arnica Montana is a homeopathic herb that does help minimize inflammation and bruising. Patients often take the sublingual supplement prior to injection and utilize the gel post injection. You can typically find it in the arthritis section in the drugstore. Hope that helps!
