Would CO2 Laser Peel help with the pigmented lips in African-Americans? Really dark lips

Can I try using CO2 laser peel on my lips to make the dark pigmentations on them fade away? I'm 26 y.o. female & pretty healthy Thank GOD.

Healing may take up to two weeks, but sometimes less. I would suggest using Melarase creams to decrease the risk of pigmentation after the peel. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

We see our patients very closely for 12 weeks after co2 laser resurfacing. In my practice you cannot use vitamin A (retinol or tretinoin) for 4-6 weeks after healing, but I do very aggressive co2 resurfacing.  I suggest asking your physician.  Best, Dr. Emer.
