How can I stop plasma bands & turkey neck at 28 getting worse? (Photos)

What can I do to help this from gettin worse? I’ve done lasers, psr3, use a good daily skin routin but nothing is helping. I’m so self conscious about my neck I’ve even had a person point out my mini turkey neck is it too early for a neck lift? I also had jowls forming but the psr3 really helped with that. Thank you for any info in advance!

Unfortunately there are no shortcuts. There are many less invasive modalities that will help temporize your concerns. A consultation for neck contour should consists of a discussion including the superficial as well as deep neck anatomy. The platysmas attachments to the skin is one component. The platysma and how it is initially structured - your anatomy appears that there is a high divergence accentuating your concerns. If you have deep neck structures blunting your cervicomental angle - submandibular glands, digastric muscles, interdigastric fat. An approach can then be designed to cater to your needs. You appear to have great skin quality. A good physical exam by a surgeon comfortable in navigating the above anatomy is key. If I can help answer any other questions do let me know. The main problem in your case appears to be related to platysma bands.

I would suggest as a first line of treatment to reduce the tension in the platysma muscles since skin tightening is not likely to be adequate to control their shape. Botulinum toxin (Botox or equivalent) can reduce the activity platysma muscles and produce a smoother contour for the neck. If this is not adequate, surgery tends to be the more effective way to improve the appearance of the neck.

Current trends with weights training can also lead to stronger platysma muscles and increased visibility of the platysma bands. If you are doing weight training, it would be worth checking in the mirror whether you are tightening a lot the neck muscles and if you do, perhaps you can change some of the parameters exercise to accommodate.

Thank you for your question and photos. You would most likely benefit from Botox injections to treat the platysma bands you’re referring to. Neck banding can become more visible as the skin becomes thinner. When injected directly into the neck bands, Botox can reduce the activity of the muscle to make the bands less visible. This treatment option can also prevent the banding from getting worse over time when an appropriate dosage and injection schedule are maintained. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified injector who can assess your concern and determine the best course of action to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Hello, we would recommend having Botox injected into the platysma muscle bands. Injecting Botox directly into those bands helps by relaxing the muscles in the neck. This will result in a smoother and softer appearance of the vertical platysma bands.

You may try with Botox first; it may create enough of imrovement to avoid surgery for some time. Otherwise, neck lift with platysmoplasty, including significant wedge excision of anterior platysma muscle would be procedure to consider. Do not use treads!! Hope this helps.

Being that young and having still great quality of skin, you don’t have saggy skin what you see is purely platisma bands and you need Botox from top to bottom of the band, both sides, and you will have a great outcome in the correct hands.

Those bands are created by sight "bowstringing" tension of your visible platysma muscle across the cervicomental angle of your neck.  Before embarking on a surgical solution, consider neuromodulator (Botox, Dysport, or equivalent) injection bilaterally directly into the flat expanse of the muscles across that central anterior portion of your neck where the bands are most visible.
