Will having Bells palsy in the past affect my chances of having a successful neck lift? 36 y/o (photo)

I have done facelifts on former Bell's palsy patients and it should not make a difference in the residual paralysis. In face, if there are residual defects, the facelift should help the cosmetic outcome. In Necklifts, there should be nothing to affect the paralysis.

As Bell's Palsy is related to a viral infection, it could always recur in the future. However, having had it shouldn't necessarily prohibit having a necklift. Based on my experience, the performance of a neckift shouldn't raise the risk of recurrence. However, I would check with a neurologist for any more specific advice on this matter, as a neurologist would have more current knowledge about the risks of recurrent Bell's Palsy. Perhaps, preventive medication might be helpful.

It is unknown whether you have completely recover after bell's palsy? If so, you should not expect any further damage with face/neck surgery. However, if you have some residual facial nerve weakness, that should stay unchanged after skillful face/neck lift. Hope this helps. Good luck.

As long as your facial nerves are intact and your and expressions are intact, a Necklace should have no bearing on previous bells palsy. At age 36, your skin tone should be acceptable, and therefore facelift should not be required. In our practice, I necklift involves removal of the fat deposits above and below the platysma muscle which also includes a platysma plasty to significantly improve the jawline. Your BMI should be less than 32 for optimal results.
