Answer: Wound breakdown after breas lift Thank you for the question. This is a common area to have wound breakdown after a Wise-pattern lift. It looks superficial. This should heal spontaneously, however, your scar will probably be slightly wider, which is usually not a major problem for most women. You should see your surgeon frequently to make sure this is healing and there is no added infection that might require further treatment. I would keep the area clean and avoid any strenuous activity/lifting, smoking (if you are a smoker), underwire bras or anything that places excess tension on the incision. Your surgeon is the best person to talk to. Pej Aflaki, M.D. Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon

CONTACT NOW Answer: Breast lift results Dear mary0821, I understand your concern. Based on your photos, it looks like there is wound separation. In most cases this will heal with time. You need to keep the wound clean and covered. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast lift It is not uncommon to have a small opening in that area, just keep it dry and no ointments and it should close within a couple of weeks.

Answer: 3 weeks It is not unusual to have wound issues of the joins of the horizontal and vertical scar. This will heal and will contract and often the scars will fade. It is obviously concerning at this point and best to keep in touch with your PS. The spitting stitches should stop in the coming weeks and once the scars start contracting you will start to see an improvement. The key at this point is that the wounds do not get infected.

Answer: Am 3weeks postop, is this a breast lift gone wrong? Hello! Thank you for your question! Your wound is at an area that is not u common following the inverted-T incision. Your wound appears superficial with granulation tissue at the base. I don’t appreciate any signs of infection or any need for surgical intervention at this time. I would agree with local wound care at this time. Once fully healed, consideration for scar revision may be entertained if still unsightly scar. Best wishes!
