Rhinoplasty or Eyelid Surgery: Which procedure should I have done first? (photo)

I am considering getting both rhinoplasty for my nose as well as ptosis surgery for my droopy eyelids, but I am not sure which procedure I should get first. I believe that these procedures will help improve my appearance, which I am very self conscious about. Do you think these procedures would benefit me, and which one should I have done first?

The order of having rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery should not make any difference in terms of results.  The simplest solution would be to have both at the same time so you would only have to deal with one recovery period.

Both procedures could be performed at the same time, or separately depending upon how you wish to proceed. Ptosis repair is usually performed by an oculoplastic surgeon, while rhinoplasty is performed by a plastic/ facial plastic surgeon. If you separate them in time, best to wait a few months to allow full swelling to subside between the procedures. It does not matter which procedure is done first.

bilaterally.  A side view of the nose is
not presented.  It would probably make
little difference as to which should be done first, eyelid ptosis correction or
rhinoplasty.  It might be possible to
schedule them slightly closer together if you did the eyelids first.  I would be inclined to wait approximately 6
weeks between procedures.  You should
consult with your plastic surgeon about this.  Some plastic surgeons would even consider doing both together although
probably not the best idea.

It is up to you to decide which one you want corrected first.  If you have the rhinoplasty first, you should wait until most of the facial swelling goes down before undergoing the ptosis repair.

I recommend that you have both procedures done during the same operation but do the eyes first to avoid possible swelling of the eyes secondary to the nasal procedure which would complicate the lid surgery.
