How long before rhinoplasty surgery do I need to stop taking benadryl?

Medication questions should always be addressed with your surgeon.  I typically allow antihistamines to be taken up until your surgical procedure. Some surgeons prefer to stop this medication approximately 1 week prior in order to minimize the effects on the nasal procedure.  Best wishes!

I can think of no reason why you would need to stop taking Benadryl before a rhinoplasty.  However, you should check with your surgeon if there is any doubt.

I would ask your surgeon what their preference is but there is no reason I can think of as to why you would need to stop it.

While there is no unique reason to stop taking Benadryl prior to surgery, be sure your surgeon, and very importantly, your anesthesiologist know.
