I want a second opinion about what procedure would help my slight diastasis recti become less budged and pronounced. What could help flatten my stomach other than working out, losing weight? Anything surgical?
Answer: Mini vs Full Tummy Tuck You have some excess skin in the lower abdomen, however it appears the the roundness you are likely concerned with is related to your rectus diastasis, or muscle separation. The only way to effectively treat this would be with a tummy tuck, either mini or full. However, you may see some improvement with noninvasive mechanisms such as EMSculpt or Coolsculpting depending on what can be seen during an in person physical exam.

Answer: Abdominoplasty Thank you for submitting your question! An abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck" is a surgical procedure that tightens your abdominal muscle or diastasis recti and removing any excess skin as well. Liposuction of the abdomen is automatically included in a tummy tuck making your abdomen as flat as possible. We can do a mini tummy tuck that uses your old c-section scar so there isn't any new incisions created. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon like myself to create a surgical plan.

Answer: Diastasis repair Hello and thank you for your question! If your main concern is the presence of a diastasis, then liposuction with an endoscopic repair could be the right choice for you. If you're looking to remove excess skin and help contour the abdomen slightly as well, a mini-abdominoplasty could be the right choice. However, a proper in-office evaluation with a plastic surgeon would be the best way to determine which procedure and techniques would work best for you and your goals. Hope this helps!

Answer: Lower abdomen not flat Dear tspada, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you have muscle separation, then muscle plication would help. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.
