Hello I had my BA two weeks ago - I am very petite 157 cm 44 kg and I wanted a natural look . My surgeon chose 275cc for me and I like it without clothes . It looks similar to what I had when I tried the sizer but it doesn't show much in specific type of clothes . He explained that I am too small for bigger implants but I want to understand how doctors decide whether your body can take bigger or not. Some small patients have big implants
Answer: Fitting big implants in petite patients? Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Every patient's anatomy does limit how large of a breast implant can be utilized safely. In other words, the use of a breast implant that is too large for a patient's frame may be problematic in many ways. Given that you are fresh out of surgery, it is definitely too early to evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed. You should be aware that a significant percentage of patients at the early stages of recovery will feel that they are too big or (more commonly) too small. I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. For example, many of my patients report that as the swelling around the breast implants (for example, in the sternal area) decreases, they feel that their breasts appear more projecting. Also, in my opinion, the "drop and fluff” phenomenon does hold some validity; as breast implants “settle”, many patients feel that their breasts actually look larger. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Implant selection Selecting the best implant is an essential aspect of any successful breast augmentation.the limits are the width of each breast (often not the same), the general body shape (tall or large), the quality of skin (stretch marks for example) and the amount of soft tissue available to cover the implant.Starting from there the compromise is between a very natural result, comfortable and possibly long lasting and something that is maybe more fun, sexy but also more risky and not necessarily right in the long term.I hope this message helps in understanding better how most doctors select the implants

Answer: Early postop It is still very early postop and things will continue to soften over the coming weeks. Breast Augmentation in petite patients act as a tissue expander initially and the skin will stretch. It is much better not to over expand initially as the risks are that the implants can extrude and also you are more likely to develop rippling and palpability the larger you go. Implants must fit the width of your chest and it is this measurement that dictates the size - after that it is the projection of the implant (again there is a limit) - but the main limit is based on the width.

Answer: Larger breast implants Some bodies will only tolerate a certain width or volume of implants. Without a photo, it is impossible to tell you specifically, but there is a limit. Some women need more than one procedure to achieve a large volume look if they are petite. The specific limit can only be determined in the operating room. Continue to follow up with your surgeon to ensure that you progress as planned.
