Mommy makerover with a full tummy tuck, with BBL. Is it possible to do it all at once? (Photo)

Breast implants/Breast Lift and Tummy Tuck are often Performed Together SafelyDifferent surgeons will recommend different procedures including doing more than one at a time. Some surgeons also differ in ability, time it takes to do the same procedure and general. It makes this a difficult choice for patients. Based on my own experience I would do all at once as long as it takes 4 or less hours. Surgeons should never perform elective operations that they are uncomfortable performing or feel unwise for them, nor should they be faulted for doing so. However, for me, I typically perform a tummy tuck and breast augmentation and lift (mastopexy) at the same time and usually takes about 3-4 hours so I recommend this be done in one surgery and this is what many refer to a Mommy Makeover.
Not only that,if you did not need a breast lift, I usually place breast implants through the Tummy Tuck incision but I prefer this technique. Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation Combination makes sense and is safe. Contrary to some of the answers I have found that the recovery time is not delayed and is the same as the tummy tuck procedure by itself. That is because you are healing simultaneously and not sequentially - both heal at the same time. The procedure only takes me about a half hour to 45 minutes longer than the tummy tuck alone. Best of all, I usually put in the breast implants through the tummy tuck incision so that there are no scars on the breasts.I have performed many of these combination procedures over the past few decades and think it is a great idea without significant increased complications

Thank you for your question and photos. I do not think it is a good idea to have a tummy tuck and BBL at the same time. I believe you will have better results if you stage the procedures. First, do liposuction to harvest fat from the hips, flanks, thighs, and abdomen. This fat can be used for the BBL. Once you have recovered from Stage 1, a tummy tuck can be performed. Please see a board certified plastic surgeon who commonly performs these procedures. Ask to see a lot of before and after pictures of their work. Hope this helps and good luck.

The answer is yes as long as you're healthy and don't have a ny medical conditions. Combination procedures are safe and very effective in the right hands.  The surgeon HAS to be an expert in EACH procedure and must have a lot of experience in performing combination procedures and can minimize the operative time.  For example, we work in a team and would take around 4-5 hours for the complete operation.  This allows us to get better results with less surgical time and less trauma.  You definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

The real question is not whether you "can" have a BBL procedure, but rather is it "safe" and will it produce good results. At your current height and weight, your BMI is over 40 which puts you in the "obese" category. For cosmetic surgery, it is ideal for patients to have a BMI of less than 30, which would be 190 pounds for you. In addition, for someone with a BMI of 40, liposuction is probably not the right procedure and will not produce good results and will likely lead to significant skin excess that you will not be happy with. 
At this point, I would recommend that you concentrate on weight loss. Talk to your primary physician and even consider a referral for weight loss (bariatric) surgery. Someone with a BMI of over 40 would likely be able to obtain insurance coverage for weight loss surgery.

I find the safest way to perform this procedure, is by separating the procedures into two separate operations. Step one, starts with 360° liposuction and BBL. The second stage is perform three months later and includes a tummy tuck procedure. Breast surgery can be considered at that time also. Regarding getting the best look after surgery, and decreasing the risk of complications, getting your BMI less than 30 is critical. For your height, a BMI less than 30 would be a weight of 190lbs. it's a long way to go, but the decreasing complication and the improved appearance with surgery makes it worth the extra time and effort. Combining procedures is done commonly, but there is a limit and the patient must be a good surgical candidate.  The first place to begin is to continue with your weight loss.  The closer you are to your ideal body weight, the better the outcome potential for surgery and the lower the risk.  Once you are at a healthy, stable weight  visit with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to review your surgical goals.  A plan will be designed unique to you and a determination can be made which procedures, if any, to combine. Generally speaking, combination surgical procedures are done routinely. However, you are wise in being concerned about the safety of combination surgery; risks/possible complications do increase with increased length of surgery… 
It is best to evaluate each patient's suitability for combination surgery on an individualized basis. During this consultation process, after a complete history and physical, the SAFETY of combining these surgical procedures becomes of paramount importance. Plastic surgeon, anesthesia provider, duration of surgery, surgery facility all important considerations. When it comes to costs of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure (quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider, etc… are some of the potential variables involved. You need to be examined in person and taken through the pros and cons of combination surgery. It is imperative that you are at your ideal weight and personally I would not offer combination surgery in patients that have a body mass index of over 30. I would recommend getting to your ideal weight and being weight stable for 6-12 months before considering combination surgery.

Congratulations on losing weight in getting your body back in shape after having children. There will be things that you cannot improve I diet and exercise. That is where surgery will come into play. A breast lift will address the sagging and position of your breasts. A tummy tuck will tighten the abdominal wall and muscles as well as remove the excessive skin. You will be well served to get within 10% of your target weight prior to having surgery. This will give you your best results.
