Thank you for your question. While the areas treated with Kybella can continue to have changes for 6-8 weeks after treatment, these effects are localized. The medication is not injected into the blood stream so there are negligible systemic effects (if any) to the medication. In other words, your Kybella treatment should have absolutely no bearing on your ability to get pregnant. That being said, there have been no studies on pregnancy and Kybella because these studies would be unrealistic to perform to know for sure. Hope this helps!

the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for
the double chin. The results of a Kybella treatment are seen 2-3 months after the treatment. The product itself is thought to be cleared by the body in under one hour. If I had a patient who wanted to get pregnant and have Kybella I would recommend that she complete her series of treatments 3 months prior to trying to get pregnant. This is to be conservative as the safety and efficacy of Kybella in pregnant women has not been established. Please

The Kybella procedure takes advantage of this property to "breakdown/destroy" the fat cells in the areas that it is injected which is an important distinction because with Kybella all the activity is Local and not systemic which is important when considering an effect on pregnancy. 6-8 weeks is the usual amount of time to see the full results of Kybella. We obviously have no information regarding Kybella and pregnancy in that is hasn't been and will never be able to be studied. You can however take advantage of your advanced planning and begin folic acid supplementation now which is very important pre-pregnancy planing to decrease risks of neural tube defects. At least one month prior to conception is needed to get this benefit. Thus waiting until your full Kybella results are being seen while supplementing with folate will help belay any potential anxiety about the treatment and getting pregnant while simultaneously helping you prevent a pregnancy complication. It gets released into stomach after we eat a fatty meal to help us break down the fat.
