When can I return to my normal workout routine after Kybella?

I am getting my first round of Kybella next month. I do Pilates 2-3 times a week and was wondering how long I will need before I can return to working out?

Everyone is different, so the best advice I can give is to return to your normal workout routine whenever you feel up for it. You do not have to refrain from exercise at all since it does not have any effect on Kybella. Always follow your doctor’s protocol, and listen to your body!

Thanks for your question !  I would say to refrain from any workouts , strenuous activity for about 2-3 after treatment. make sure to ask your physician for written after care instructions to ensure best results!

Although the result won't be affected by working out, in my NYC practice I don't recommend that my patients work out strenuously in the first couple of days after Kybella injections. As there is considerable fluid swelling in the neck for the first week I would be concerned that the exercise will increase the amount of swelling dramatically and make my patients feel self-conscious.

There can be swelling, redness and inflammation for several days after a Kybella treatment. There is no real down-time with Kybella, but I recommend following your Doctor's protocol regarding exercise after your treatment. Best, Dr. Emer

I let  my patients return to mild workouts 6 to 12 hours after the procedure. This is recommended to reduce the risk of bruising. You may want to wait 24 hours if your work outs are vigorous.

the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for
the double chin. I tell my patients that they can resume their normal activities, including exercise, immediately after a Kybella treatment. Please

Speak with your injector as we all have different protocols. I typically advise my patients to wait a couple of days. However, keep in mind that strenuous exercise will increase swelling.

I usually recommend waiting 2-3 days after your Kybella treatment before resuming any strenuous exercise.  If you experience a lot of swelling, I recommend waiting a few days longer
