I am on between 20 and 30mg prednisone for a medical condition. I would like to do Kybella. Will the prednisone have a negative affect on the results?
Answer: Medications & Kybella I don't see why there would be an issue with your being on prednisone and getting Kybella. However, make sure to let your injector know everything that you are taking.

Answer: Kybella and prednisone The use of prednisone is not a contraindication to the use of Kybella. Some patients taking prednisone experience weight gain. This may effect your results if, following your Kybella treatment, you experience weight gain. I recommend finding an experienced Kybella injector to find out if you are a good candidate for this treatment. A clinical examination of your submental area is necessary to make this determination. Good luck!

Answer: Kybella and prednisone Thank you for your question Kristenl30. Kybella is the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for the double chin. While being on prednisone is not a contraindication to Kybella treatment, this question raises a couple of issues. First prednisone can increase the levels of fat in the double chin. Second anti-inflammatory medications will decrease the inflammation after a Kybella treatment. This inflammation is thought to be responsible for the tightening effects. It would therefore be ideal to have Kybella treatments after discontinuing prednisone if possible. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
