Hello, I Had my Silicone Implants Removed A Few Days Ago. I Am Now Devastated By What I See. My Doctor Had Predicted A Little Droopiness But Otherwise Thought My Breasts Wouldnt Need A Lift. I Feel Deceived And Incredibly Angry, And Think He Must Have Done Something Wrong. Hoping This Will Get Better, But Not So Sure...

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no way to predict the way a breast will look after implant removal. We usually tell people they will need a lift, but sometimes, the skin retraction is adequate and a lift is not needed. There is little to do wrong when removing an implant. Perhaps the clarity on the risks on the need for a lift can be revisited by you and the surgeon. I recommend visiting a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon as well if your surgeon is not. Although your concerns are understandable, it is much too early to evaluate the outcome  of the procedure performed. This is best done so many months from now;  it may take several months and even up to one year for the breast skin to fully “bounce back”.

It is not fair to comment based upon this limited info without the benefit of photos. Taking implants out is pretty straightforward, and it is difficult to imagine anything that could have been done incorrectly. 

	Nothing in your note explains what the issues are with your postop appearance. Please specify the issues, post photos, and add info like the implant size, and with that some useful suggestions may be forthcoming.

First of all, take a breath and read on. Everyone's breasts always look "funny" a few days after removal of implants. Your body is working hard to heal right now. In a few weeks it will start to work on shrinking the tissue and tightening up the skin. They may not get as tight and firm as you would like but they will most definitely look better and better as time passes. The other good thought to focus on is that,even if you eventually do decide to have a lift down the road, you may not need as extensive an operation as you would have needed had you done it at the beginning. For right now it may help to wear a bra that has good Spandex in the cups to help "mold" the skin (kind of like a sports bra). Be sure to check with your surgeon first before you do this.
