Why is my right breast significantly larger than my left breast?

I am 31 years old and I have been living with this deformation since I was a teenager. My right breast is at least 1 to 2 cup sizes larger than my left breast.

Every woman has some degree of asymmetry when it comes to the breasts, and that is completely normal. There are different options to improve the symmetry such as breast augmentation with implants, fat grafting, or a breast lift. A thorough consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon will allow you to communicate what your desired result is and will inform you as to what is possible to achieve your goals.

Asymmetry is the norm. You can always get this checked out by your GP if you’re concerned, but you should know that a difference in size, even by 1-2 cups, is not abnormal.

Hello,Thank you for your question. Breast asymmetries are common, however it sounds like you have a significant asymmetry. In cases like yours, if you are happy with the size of the smaller breast, a combination of lift/reduction may help. If you would like to increase the smaller breast's size a combination of different implant volumes could be appropriate. Breast asymmetry is very common and can be fixed with a breast augmentation or the many other options that are available. Fat transfer to the smaller breast, breast implants, breast reduction, and breast lift.

Dear Mermer,   Front and side view pictures would have been very helpful. Breasts asymmetry is very common (breasts are sisters and not twins) , but not to the degree that you describe. Polland syndrome comes to mind.   I am sure that your situation is quite frustrating, especially, for living with it for so many years. The good news is that the breasts can be made more symmetrical , either by augmentation or reduction , according to your desire.  You have to realize, that not all results are the same, because experience, skills and aesthetic eye are critical for good outcome. So, do your due diligence carefully and choose your surgeon wisely, to avoid bad result that will require corrective surgery.   Always, consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Breast asymmetry is very common and can be treated in many ways.  Some possibilities include a breast reduction/lift of the larger breast and/or an implant on the smaller breast or different size implants for both breasts.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

The breasts are never exact mirror images of each other in any woman. One to Two Cup size difference is a significant asymmetry that may be improved with surgery. Without knowing your exact anatomy it is not possible to recommend what is needed. Possible options include bilateral implants, unilateral implant, unilateral breast reduction, bilateral or unilateral mastopexies, etc. I would recommend a detailed consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon to determine what is best  for  you.

Thank you for your question. Most women have breast that are different sizes to some degree. This asymmetry is common, and with plastic surgery it can often be corrected. Many times we can do a reduction on one side and an implant on the other to create more balance, although there are many different possibilities. Most women have asymmetric breasts. Your asymmetry may be more than average but that is something that is often correctable. Without photos and an exam it is hard to say, but you potentially have a lot of options. They include: fat transfer to the smaller breast, breast implants, breast reduction, and breast lift.
