Since latisse has not yet been tested on breast feeding women, I wouldn't risk it. Wait until you've stopped breast feeding your child before resuming use. It's always better to err on the side of caution. Best, Dr. Nazarian
I agree with what has been said. Latisse has not been tested on pregnant nor breast feeding women. It is not worth the risk so it is best to wait until your body stabilizes post breast feeding.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus DiazDouble Board Certified in Facial Plastic Surgery
As you mention in the question, latisse has not been tested on pregnant nor breast feeding women. It is not worth the risk so it is best to wait until your body stabilizes post breast feeding.
While it is likely safe, because of the warning in the product monograph and the lack of urgency in treating eyelashes, I'd just wait till you're done nursing. Calling MotherRisk to check on safety of Latisse or any other medicine while nursing/pregnant is always a good idea.
The package insert from Latisse states the following: "It is not known whether LATISSE® solution is excreted in human milk, although in animal studies, bimatoprost has been shown to be excreted in breast milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when LATISSE® is administered to a nursing woman." I would NOT advise using Latisse while breast feeding.
I would not suggest using Latisse while breastfeeding. The medication is not tested on pregnant or breastfeeding women - and never will be. It would be best to just avoid it until you are done breastfeeding. "This answer has been solicited without seeing this patient and cannot be held as true medical advice, but only opinion. If you stop using Latisse, the new lashes will not be stimulated it so eventually they will return to your baseline.
You are not recommended to start using Latisse® while you have blepharitis. This is because blepharitis restricts eyelash growth, limiting the potential effects of Latisse®. The product may also further irritate your eyelids. If you’re currently using Restasis, you should be on track to hea...
Latisse should continue to work as long as you use it regularly. It sounds as if some of your lashes have gotten on the same growth cycle. Perhaps, discontinue use and see if the lashes return. Then, try latisse again. Best, Dr. Nazarian
Latisse should be used once every 24 hours. It should be applied to clean dry skin for best results.
I don't think that's a good idea. You want to be able to precisely control the amount of latisse applied and where. It's best to use the applicator brush that comes in the package or a very fine eyeliner brush but then make sure to clean it thoroughly after each use. Best, Dr. Nazarian
My advise would be to discontinue use until the rash heals. Then, start again. However, if the rash reappears, you could have developed a reaction to the latisse. At that point, consult your dermatologist. Best, Dr. Nazarian
