Is there a vegan alternative to Botox? Something that doesn’t currently test on animals and doesn’t use animal products?

Hello, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no vegan alternative to Botox. Botulinum toxins are tested on small Swiss mice. This is the bases for measuring the strength of the product. The FDA requires that each lots undergo this type of assay to validate its strength. That is true of any botulinum toxin use for human being. Please be aware that clever scammers are out there to cash in of the botox gravy train by pushing products with confusing names that sound like they are doing something like botox. These products are not botox and they are not effective. They simply separate you from your money.

All Neuromodulators (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, etc..) are tested on animals which is a required process for FDA approval. However, it does not mean that in future, research could not be done in this area, to provide an alternative. 

Unfortunately there is no injectable vegan alternative to Botox. Botox is by law required to be tested on animals. Fortunately there are many animal friendly and cruelty free skin care brands out there that offer anti ageing products which can help smooth and soften fine lines and wrinkles, regular sheet masks can can help skin feel tighter and smoother. Oh the bright side there is research being taken out to being out a vegan range of Botox in the near future. 

THere is not vegan neurotoxin, but in it's place we sometimes use ThermiSmooth treatments.   This radiofrequency device is painless and can achieve the goals through a mechanism that would likely be acceptable to your belief system.

Unfortunately there are no alternatives that are not tested on animals. There is a procedure which involves the ThermiRF device and nerve ablation. This is more permanent solution but you will have to find a provider who does it regularly. Best of luck, Dr. M 

I agree completely. As much as people have tried, there is nothing like Botox and the other similar injectable neuromodulators, all made from a modification of the same molecule from the same source. There is even very little difference between any of them. Anything else, however, doesn't work to achieve what you can accomplish with Botox.
