Last year i go 1ml juvaderm lip filler. My top lip stayed puffed up & looked like i had a mustache. It had migrated above my top lip they said.I got it dissolved. A month ago i went back and got it done with 0.5 ml restylane & was assured the puffiness wont happen again. Its been 3-4 weeks now and i got a similar puff. Whats the reason? Poor filler placement, too much filler or my lips just cant take filler? I dont want it dissolved, it was painful. Can it be fixed with lip flip botox?
Answer: The lip flip is a mythical unicorn with a rainbow horn-don't chase it. Anyone who tells you to just let this treatment "wear off" does not understand these products. This filler will be there for years. Letting it wear off is a ridiculous suggestion. Your injector has over filled the edge of the lip to fill the white roll above the lip edge. It needs to be removed. I do believe that Restylane is the right product. Try to find injectors who understand facial volume.

Answer: Filler migration Hi @calm5549! A lip flip would not resolve this problem. I recommend dissolving the filler with Hylenex and starting with a fresh canvas. Best of luck to you!

Answer: Too much filler, wrong placement, or lips just don't handle filler correctly? Can it be fixed with lip flip botox? Hello, thank you for your question. Botox would not help to improve this, filler has to be dissolve. I recommend you to schedule with a highly trained and experienced board certified plastic surgeon or or dermatologic surgeon for a personal evaluation.

Answer: Bad results with fillers Thank you for sharing you question and photos. You would not improve with injection of Botox. The treatment is to dissolve the product and have an experienced oculofacial surgeon perform your procedure. The filler was injected too high. Good luck!

Answer: Unhappy with Lip Augmentation with HA-Based Injectable Fillers Like Juvederm, Volbella, Restylane -- Dissolve with Hyaluronidase Thank you for your question! If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have the filler dissolved with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. I would highly recommend getting a formal evaluation with and treatment from a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist and expert in facial sculpting. Technique is the key to a successful lip augmentation with fillers, so you'll want to see someone meticulous. An experienced physician will be able to determine which filler, how much filler, and which technique will give you the subtle result you're looking for. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Dissolve and start over. I echo the sentiments of my colleagues. This filler was either injected in the wrong place, or migrated. Hylenex will dissolve it since it's a hyaluronic acid filler. You might need a couple of sessions with your injector to get it all dissolved. 2 weeks after your last Hylenex appointment, you should be able to try again. I really like Volbella, Vollure, and Restylane Refyne in the lips. Best of luck.
