Is it normal/fair to pay for a revision?

the price is entirely practice dependent. If it was planned to be staged than the cost may be included. If its a revision, typically surgeons only ask the patient to pay for the surgery center and anesthesia. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Many surgeons have a similar policy and it is often included as part of your original consent form. Of course seeing photos of your case would help as well to determine what type of revision is needed

If you look back at your original paperwork, you probably signed something that you read and agreed with about payment for revision surgery. Yes, it is fair to ask you to pay for the surgery center and anesthesia because this money does not go to your surgeon, and it is very kind of your surgeon to not charge you a surgical fee for additional surgery. Your surgeon does not have complete control on how your body heals.

You don't show photos. How are reviewers to know what is "reasonably" fair. Maybe the issue is your tissues, size choice, bad luck? The surgeon policies are usually known upfront. Since there are no guarantees in surgery, Offering to do the surgery fee free seems reasonable.
