I had a thigh lift in April of 2021. The doctor should have done a debulking round of lipo before doing the thigh lift. I’m not very happy with the results, as my thighs still look big. I’ve been to two different doctors who are recommending lipo, but one suggests bodytite and one suggests renuvion. I’m just looking for a nonbiased opinion. Thanks.
Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear Considerate4532, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Liposuction Revision You would benefit from a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. It is hard to answer your question without photos. In your case it is critical to consider how much skin will result from the debulking. The definitive correction for liposuction deformities requires the advanced technology of ultrasound assisted VASER liposuction. As an official trainer of VASER liposuction, I encounter suboptimal liposuction outcome referrals weekly. VASER liposuction has been the only modality that has consistently corrected liposuction caused deformities. VASER liposuction ensures a smooth contour regardless of severity of contour irregularities by virtue of being able to remove any and all remaining fat comprehensively and uniformly. Finally, when skin redundancy irregularities are observed, Renuvion technology can be simultaneously applied to tighten your skin to optimize your overall contour outcome. A Skype or FaceTime consultation with a VASER specialist will help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully, Arian Mowlavi MD, FACS Realself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee

Answer: Getting an assessment To get an assessment we need to see pictures. If you’ve had a procedure then you need to include before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures then ask the surgeon who did your thigh lift to forward the ones they took. They lift are not easy procedures and the number of patients who get attractive quality outcomes really aren’t that many. When there is a substantial amount of subcutaneous fat than this one limit how much skin can be removed. Weather aggressive Liposuction can and should be done in conjunction with the thigh lift is something that differs among different providers and surgeons have to balance a variety of factors including patient safety. Liposuction at this point mayor may not be indicated and may or may not improve your thighs. Without pictures it’s hard to know. I purchased Renuvion when it first came on the market as a skin tightening device. I used it for a year and during that time neither I or any of my patients noticed any change in skin tightening. I made objective measurements between incision sites and skin markings and literally saw absolutely no change. personally I don’t believe either of these devices delivers anything other than increased cost and increased pain during and after the procedure. Since that time I sold my device unfortunately at a substantial loss but I’m glad to have gotten rid of it because it did not deliver and I simply couldn’t recommend using it. For all them people who spent $100,000 buying these devices I think they are still part of the story called “the emperor has no clothes”. I guess in my analogy I am the little girl who is calling out that the emperor has no clothes on. Delivering consistent quality Liposuction results it’s more difficult than people believe. having the right equipment is not important part of the equation. skill and experience are the two primary variables that determine who gets the best results. I’m guessing that your hope is that by adding some secondary skin tightening device you will be spared having to do a third skin tightening procedure after the fat has been removed. Again, without seeing pictures there isn’t much anyone can tell you. I can tell you that I don’t recommend either bodytite or Renuvion. I can tell you that Liposuction results vary more in outcome based on who does the procedure than any other surgical procedure I’ve ever seen. I know that most plastic surgeons really aren’t very good at doing liposuction. Whether you should have more consultations or pick one of the two providers it’s going to have to be a decision you will need to make. I generally encourage patients to only rely on in person consultations and when having consultations ask providers to show their entire collection of before and after pictures for the procedure you’re interested in. In other words during the consultation it would be great if each of the providers simply open up their computer and showed you all of the before and after pictures for thigh Liposuction. they could then scroll through picture after picture in front of you and show you some of their better results, average results and some less than. Eventually they may find pictures of patients who looked family similar to what you do and that would be an excellent representation of what you should expect. This would be an ideal situation. You’d get a very clear sense of how many procedures the surgeon has performed and you get a chance to see our various outcomes. Instead what’s more typical is the surgeon will show you three or four examples pictures which in fact represent the best results of their career. This is insufficient to understand what average results in the hands of that provider will look like. It also does not give any confirmation of how many lower extremity Liposuction procedures the surgeon has performed. Mastering liposuction takes decades and doing thousands of cases. It is a far more difficult procedure to do well than people believe. You don’t have to look too far on this website to recognize that. Good luck with your decision making and upcoming procedure.
