I've had a chalazion for 8 months on my upper eyelid which has caused my eyelid to droop a bit. Will my eye get back to normal once the chalazion is removed or will I need ptosis surgery?

Is best managed with a revision as you already plan. I wouldn't waste time with trying to use tape to create folds. Make sure your surgeon understands what your concern is so the desired outcome is achieved.
