Greeting from South Carolina!  Thank you very much for your question. I’m sorry that you have atrophy related to your cortisone injection. The good news is that even if you do nothing it will most likely completely resolve in the next few months to a year. By injecting with normal saline, it stretches the fibroblasts and increases collagen production. This will definitely speed up you recovery. You will need multiple treatments spaced a few weeks apart. Even better would be to do saline and a small amount of filler. This would require less treatments.   Even though I really like micro needling for overall skin improvement, I don’t think that micro needling would specifically work for this atrophy as it is a deep atrophic process. Remember that if you ever need another cortisone injection for an inflammatory process, you need to tell your doctor that you’re very sensitive to cortisone so that he/she can decrease the potency of the cortisone or use less.
