There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. I also recommend using an LED LightStim to decrease bruising. If more significant bruising is present, I recommend using a vascular laser or IPL treatment to help reduce the bruising more quickly. Arnik with bromelain pills (arnika forte) can also be taken to help speed up the healing. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time.
Do NOT massage your lips. You only had the injections three days ago. You don't know what is bruise, swelling or filler. You may end up massaging the filler into areas you don't want it. Just let things normalize on their own. See your injector if you haven't. By two weeks, everything should be fine.Andrew Campbell, M.D.Facial Rejuvenation SpecialistQuintessa Aesthetic Centers
Bruising and/or swelling can be typical and may last 1-2 weeks. Icing, arnica and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.I hope this helps!
Hello and thank you for your question. You are doing all the right things to help aid in the healing process. A very gentle massage between your fingers will be helpful in smoothing out the product further. However, massaging is not crucial, so if you are still too sore you don't have to. After having lip injections, there is usually a significant amount of swelling and bruising that occurs. These symptoms begin almost immediately after your treatment and peak 2 to 3 days after. The healing process can take up to two weeks to resolve, however, will gradually improve over this time. Best of luck.

It appears that you have a large bruise from your lip filler and I would recommend Arnica, icing, and the V-Beam pulsed dye laser to help resolve this more quickly. Best, Dr. Green
Based on your photos, you may have a small hematoma or blood collection after the injection. For now, I would recommend warm compresses 2-3x/day and gentle massage. Once the blood has been broken down naturally over several days, it is usually reabsorbed by the body without issue. If a collection remains, it may require aspiration by your surgeon, but this is rare. Make sure you have scheduled follow up with your injector to discuss your concerns. I see all patient 7-14 days after treatment to be sure there are no issues and no corrections are needed. Best of luck.
It is normal to have swelling and some lumpiness after lip injections. Bruising is variable, but is not uncommon. All of these things should resolve over the next two weeks. You can try sleeping with your head elevated, avoiding excessive salt intake, and gentle massage for the swelling. Arnica may help with the bruising. Usually icing won't help the swelling or bruising this far out. Generally the swelling is nearly gone five to seven days after the injection and the bruising should resolve over the course of one to two weeks. If things still are not resolved by two weeks, I would recommend contacting your injector and letting them know. Sometimes a little hyaluronidase is needed if an area is a little uneven. I hope this helped, good luck!!
It is not unusual to have swelling and bruising after lip injections. This can continue for about 2-3 days after the procedure and than will begin to improve. Arnica and sleeping with your head elevated will help with the swelling and bruising. Ice will help with the discomfort. Gentle massage may help to mobilize the fluid. If your symptoms have not resolved by about 2 weeks you should contact your provider.
Thank you for your question! I recommend you avoid avoid having treatment with filler until your sinus infection has resolved and you have finished your course of steroids and antibiotics. This will minimize risk of an infection after the filler treatment. Microcannulas can be used during the f...
Swelling and/or tenderness can be typical and may be asymmetrical. Icing, arnica and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.
Thank you for your question! It takes 2 weeks for final results. I would wait a full 2 weeks before adding filler, but I recommend following up with your injector about your desired results and recommended timeline. Best of luck!
