I had one syringe of bellafill placed in each tear trough 9 months ago. Everything looked good until about 6 weeks ago. I literally woke up one morning with a hard bone like lump on top of my bone under the one eye, then a small one developed under the othe eye 2 weeks later.oral steroids didn’t help. I was in a car accident and sustained a concussion 4 weeks prior to getting this lump. Could it possibly be from trauma of some sort?i feel deformed and helpless, and just want these lumps gone!
Answer: Bellafill complications Filler migration and granuloma formation can cause longterm problems with Bellafill and Artefill fillers. This is similar in patients who have Artecoll and PMMA fillers. Longterm filler complications include migration, edema, chronic swelling, and nodularity. If patients have filler migration or nodules, we recommend a combination approach of filler reversal with enzymes, corticosteroids, and scar tissue modulators. Our HIDEF approach can break down filler scarring and granulomas so that they are less apparent. If the filler material itself does not dissolve, it either means the filler is likely not HA material or is unresponsive to conservative therapy. This technique may be followed by surgical removal of the filler if there is a suitable target for removal and the chance of scarring is low. Surgical removal of Bellafill is possible and we have a wide ranging experience with the treatment. Some areas of the face can be treated because the Bellafill removal scars are barely visible. We have found that Bellafill nodules, if palpated, can be removed from the tissue. Undereye Bellafill, nasolabial fold Bellafill, and lip filler can be treated successfully. Diffuse Bellafill is difficult to treat. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Realself100 Surgeon

Answer: Hard bumps under eye 8 months after Bellafill injections This is an area that is where most Bellafill complications occurs. It has to be done exactly right, and even then, there are risks of nodularity. You can try injections with 5FU/steroids/collagenase to lessen. It might require excision if no results are seen with these injections.

Answer: Bellafill with hard spot in 9 months It is disconcerting to have a bump in the treatment area wherever the injection might have been. I suggest you go back to the place you had your injection for an examination and to anwer more questions. It would be important to note when the bump first appeared, and if you have massaged or done any other thing to it. Most lumps or bumps become smaller over a period of time, but that is not always so. You may have some fibrous or scar tissue at the site. The skin is very thin in the tear trough area and so it is less forgiving to have something of concern appear there. You may see if it gets smaller with a several weeks of gentle pressure to it five times a day for five minutes. If it persists, there are a number of treatments which may be performed by an experienced physician to alleviate persistent lumps or bumps.

Answer: Nodules and immogenic reaction of fillers- BELLAFILL If its bilateral it suggest an general immunologic reaction. I do not have any problems with non- Specialist injecting, however they do have the absolute responsibility for management of complications. Now, every specialist is different. I look for cross antigens first, usual MSU, history , ASOT etc.. For this type of reaction, sometimes systemic triple therapy can be trialled along with local ILCS injections, 5FU etc.. Reports of diode fibre optic laser used to break down filler. RF insulated cannula devices are novel, and may work. Excision and drainage last option. Take care, and be conservative in your approach.
