I am looking at many Plastic surgeon and Dermatologist websites. I noticed that many of them do not offer Bellafil. Is there a reason why? Bellafil was suggested to me and I am starting to wonder if Bellafil is good idea. Thank you in advance for your response.

Answer: Bellafill is a good option for cheeks and marionette lines In regards to filling in hollows of the cheeks and marionette lines, Bellafill is a good option. Although Bellafill is FDA approved only for the nasolabial lines (smile lines) and for correction of acne scars, it is safe to use in other “off-label” areas, with the exception of the lips. I use Bellafill as a volume enhancement in the cheeks, chin, temples, and forehead, and as a wrinkle filler in most areas. Bellafill is a great option for those who want a dermal filler that is longer lasting. Most of my patients are tired of coming back every 1-2 years for other kinds of fillers. Also, over the long run, it turns out to be less costly. Usually my patients start out with the shorter acting fillers. After having good results, and gaining confidence in my skills as an injector, they consider switching to Bellafill. One of the reasons I am comfortable with Bellafill is that a large part of my practice is injecting dermal filler. I do not do plastic surgery, medical dermatology or medical anti-aging treatments. I do only noninvasive medical cosmetic treatments. In addition, I train other physicians in the use of Bellafill.

Answer: Bellafill for cheeks and marionette lines Thank you for your question. Bellafill contains PMMA microspheres which provide a scaffold that supports your own natural collagen production as it develops over time. It is a great choice for cheek augmentation and marionette lines. 83% of patients were still satisfied with their results 5 years after improvement. More than one treatment may be needed, but results are excellent and long lasting. Please consult a local board certified facial plastic surgeon for more information and a comprehensive consultation
