Bellafill injectables vs laser skin resurfacing?

the physicians below addressed this pretty well. I have not been particularly impressed with the results that I saw from laser resurfacing of the skin for acne scarring. For the "rolling" type of acne scars - wide, faint gradual borders, Bellafil works nicely. It is not for punctate, "ice pick" scars. Bellafil restores volume whereas a laser does not.

Both of these procedures are often used on the same patient. Deeper atrophic rolling scars are best treated with filler such as Bellafill. If you have multiple small scars which are boxcar and ice pick, laser can be helpful. I also use subcision, PRP, TCA cross, and microneedling to get the best results. I use a unique technique for injecting the scars which uses tangential lightening to best highlight the scars being treated.

Bellafill is a great treatment for specific acne scarring. It is a longer term filler with a 5 year indication. However, Co2 laser is great for acne scarring and can also help with any post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that may be left from old scarring. I would suggest scheduling a consultation with a provider to determine your specific needs. Once your scarring is identified, that will help in determining the best route to take as far as treatments go. All in all, fillers such as Bellafill can be a great option but you may be better suited with a laser to treat all factors associated with your specific type of scarring.

Bellafill is a great solution for any scar that is soft and can be stretched out.  I will not help recent scars or scars that are still firm, retracted or small.  For these scars microneedling works much better than laser resurfacing.  Lasers take away tissue.  Most scars like those from acne are the result of tissue loss as well so a better solution is to restore volume.  Both microneedling and Bellifill work because that add volume.I hope that helps.Best regards.
