Question

I had surgery on the 16th of June. since I've had surgery I can definitely see the difference in breast size and fullness. I'm concerned and I did talk to my surgeon, but he said it was swelling. Swelling on my right size has drastically subsided since the day of surgery. Even though it was never as swollen as the left side. My left side has dropped faster and is fuller and rounder. I'm disappointed. You can see the size difference in bras and other clothing. I don't even want to go outside.

When implants are first inserted, they sit high up because your tissues are tight and gravity hasn't taken effect. Over time, natural tissue expansion occurs to allow the implants to fall into place. By this time, your breasts will have taken on a more natural contour, where the lower breasts become softer and rounder. Please wait at least four months for this to happen.Dropping and fluffing takes about 3-4 months and can occur faster in one side than the other.

Thank you for your picture. You need to allow time to help with the swelling. Waiting at least relaunched or just the final outcome is valuable. If at three months the result is still asymmetric then it is reasonable to pursue any type of revision. I would not get to concerned about your results at this point. Good luck.

Thank you for your question and photo. Small differences on the size of the breasts soon after surgery is not uncommon.  It is certainly too early to see the final result.  There will be many changes to the breasts over the next several weeks as things heal and settle.  It is not uncommon for the breasts to settle at different rate.  It is impossible to perform the exact same operation on both breasts---meaning they can have varying amounts of swelling and therefore subtle changes as they heal.  Best advice is to continue to follow up with your surgeon and he or she can guide you though the recovery process.

Your result looks excellent for the early postoperative period.  It will take time for your swelling to subside and the implants to drop into position.  They may look asymmetric for the first few months while the implants settle into place, but the best thing to do is to try to be as patient as you can during this time.

Remember that each breast is always a little different. They will settle at different times and will often be a little different in shape and volume. It is impossible to have two exactly the same breasts.

From your posted photos it is somewhat difficult to tell, but your result appears satisfactory for early postop.  To allow us to give you a better idea I recommend you post a better quality front photo, profile photos, and your preop photos.

There will be more noticeable changes over the next few months, so be patient. You may have had some prexisting asymmetry that you did not appreciate. Your pre op photos would show that. At any rate, your rather dramatic response to this relatively minor difference is the greatest concern. It appears from this single picture that your result is good so far and no cause for overreaction. Hang in there!

Are you serious?? The posted early result appears excellent! Maybe you need more time but if you are not happy with this than you have some issues that need to be discussed in person with you and your surgeon....
