I just got a liposuction in my stomach and I feel very nauseous. Is it normal to be throwing up?

Nausea is normal after anesthesia.  However, you need to speak to your doctor about this if you are concerned.   At this point you  should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy and exilis, and lymphatic massage to get you through healing.  It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome.  If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Veronica.   Sorry to hear that yourearly recovery is a bit rocky. Sometimes anesthesia can cause nausea and vomiting for a day or two after surgery. However, if the vomiting persists, or your stomach becomes hard and you experience severe abdominal pain, go to the emergency room as soon as possible. Most importantly, call your plastic surgeon and inform them of your symptoms right away. Good luck!

I’m sorry for the adverse symptoms you are experiencing. Some patients may experience anesthesia-related side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, sore throat, blood pressure changes and pain. Nonetheless, these side effects are usually mild, short-lived and treatable. More serious complications from anesthesia are rare and are more likely to occur in patients with complex, serious medical conditions. I recommend seeing your plastic surgeon to be evaluated and contact him/her promptly if you notice an increase in swelling, pain, redness, drainage, or bleeding in the surgical area, or if you develop fever (above 100.4 F), dizziness, nausea, or vomiting. You are very early on the healing process, at the stage you are in, these symptom is normal.
