Liposuction post op 1 week and shape is like this, is this just swelling? (photos)

Hello, thank you for the recent question and photos!  I would recommend you give the healing process time to heal and the swelling to go down.  This process can take up to 6 months to a year.  The hardness you are feeling is the pockets of swelling.  Continue to wear a compression garment and follow up with your PS for any post op instructions.  Best of luck!

You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. Thank you for your question. Healing after liposuction k is usually pretty straight forward.  There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery.  The later phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens.  It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient.  I  have my liposuction patients wear a compression garment (faja) covering all treated 24/7 except to shower for 4 weeks post op.  This helps ontrol swelling as the compression on your tissues helps your body to reabsorb the edema fluid that accumulates in the tissues after any procedure. This can take quite some time to happen without help from the compression garments.  It also helps improve  contour.  Compression helps to keep the tissues adherent to the underlying structures while healing, this can help prevent the wrinkled skin appearance that can happen when the tissues heal in ways we don't want them to.

Well by seen the pictures, I would like to ask you what areas had liposuction. Was it the abdomen only or was any other area done.  When liposuction is performed there is inflammation present on the worked areas. Hardening on the tissues may occur. If you have any questions regarding the access wounds from the procedure, it will be best to ask your surgeon to examine the area. On occasions pictures are not necessarily the best to evaluate the wounds.

The inflammation process can last up to 6 months, each patient has an individual recovery process. You are still in the healing process , so I recommend to be patient, and follow all other instructions given by your surgeon and contact him or her if you have any concerns.

You are still early on the healing process, it can take up to 6 months to see your final results, so I recommend to be patient. At the stage you are in, these symptoms are normal.
If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon.
