Hello,Based off of your pictures, a closed rhinoplasty is the answer for you. A closed rhinoplasty is an easy way to fix this by rotating the nose upwards and preventing the excess pulldown when smiling. We utilize multiple maneuvers to carefully rotate the tip of the nose to lift it to an elegant height and design without any telltale signs of surgery. Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon canaccomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in yourlower nose. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotation of your tip to turnup your tip slightly and prevent your nose from curving or drooping when you smile. Make sure you specifically look at before and afterpictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeonand not just a computer animation system. The most importantaspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seekconsultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluateyou in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. Reish, M.D.Harvard-trained plastic surgeon
Your oblique smiling photo appears to show a droopy nasal tip that may be exacerbating the appearance of a dorsal hump. Consider consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph
It's difficult to give a complete answer based on the photos you've provided. However, it appears that your tip droops when you smile. This is caused by a lack of tip support and an overactive tip depressor muscle. Both can be remedied with rhinoplasty surgery. If you have other aesthetic concerns they can also be addressed during surgery. Best.
thanks for your question and your photos. If the animation deformity or the curving of your nose when you smile is you're only major concern, that could be done in the office with a small procedure to cut a muscle that attaches from your nose to the muscle of your smile. It takes less than five minutes to do this. There are slight asymmetries however It can be difficult To know exactly what you're looking for without an in person consultation. I recommend getting several consultations of board-certified plastic surgeon or ENT physicians. Good luck. All the best,Carlos Mata MD,MBA,FACSBoard-certified plastic surgeon
The nasal areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with an artistically performed nasal surgery (rhinoplasty). Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and technically how to do it based on limited two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California
A closed rhinoplasty procedure can accomplish shaving down the dorsal hump, narrowing the bridge line, and lifting the tip of the nose, with all the incisions placed on the inside of the nose. No external incision is required. It is important to release the depressor septi ligament which pulls the tip down when smiling. Dear abdi27, You appear to be an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty surgery to help refine your nose by reducing the dorsal hump and slightly rotating the tip. I would suggest since you are on realself now you use this as a good source to obtain expert surgeons for consultation. Find surgeons who have many reviews and read the reviews. If a large majority of those are regarding rhinoplasty surgery then the surgeon likely denotes a large portion of their practice to this speciality. Seek consultation with some of these expert surgeons and review their before and after photographs of male rhinoplasty patients with similar looking noses to ensure natural looking results. During consultation you can imaging performed to show you the proposed results and once the desired nose is agreed upon then your surgeon will discuss the details of the techniques which will be used to obtain the desired results. If you decide to consult out of state you will find many surgeons like myself accept complimentary consultations via scheduled facetime. See examples in the link below and a similar nose in the video above. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
You appear to be a very good candidate for rhinoplasty surgery to refine your nose. The DSN muscle can be transected but smiling will still elevate the outer nostril area. Shortening of your nose and supporting your tip with an open rhinoplasty technique will make your nose aesthetically better and more balanced to the remainder of your face. The tiny stair-step incision becomes nearly invisible after six weeks of healing and has never left a prominent scar in my experience. Meet with Board Certified plastic or ENT surgeons until you find one who inspires your confidence.
