I also have have some asymmetry between the left and right side of my face what can I do to correct that as well?
Answer: Closed Rhinoplasty Hello,Based off of your pictures, a closed rhinoplasty is the answer for you. A closed rhinoplasty is an easy way to fix this by rotating the nose upwards and preventing the excess pulldown when smiling. We utilize multiple maneuvers to carefully rotate the tip of the nose to lift it to an elegant height and design without any telltale signs of surgery. All the best, Deepak Dugar, MDScarless Rhinoplasty ExpertBeverly Hills, CA 90210

Answer: I hate how my nose curves when I smile. What can I do to fix that? The nasal areas that you described and would like improved can be addressed with an artistically performed nasal surgery (rhinoplasty). Keep in mind that following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and technically how to do it based on limited two dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of each operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from a cephalic rotation of your tip to turn up your tip slightly and prevent your nose from curving or drooping when you smile. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty surgery may be considered for improving the appearance of a droopy nasal tip. Your oblique smiling photo appears to show a droopy nasal tip that may be exacerbating the appearance of a dorsal hump. Consider consulting with several reputable rhinoplasty specialists so you could see what might be best for you moving forward. Hope this helps! Dr Joseph

Answer: I hate how my nose curves when I smile. What can I do to fix that? It's difficult to give a complete answer based on the photos you've provided. However, it appears that your tip droops when you smile. This is caused by a lack of tip support and an overactive tip depressor muscle. Both can be remedied with rhinoplasty surgery. If you have other aesthetic concerns they can also be addressed during surgery. Best.
