Cellfina has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks. Results in patients followed over 2-3 years have been very good with a high degree of patient satisfaction.
We have seen great results with cellfina for both the front and the back of thighs. We have also seen great results in the buttocks area. It would be best to discuss the areas of concern with your surgeon so they can let you know if cellfina is right for you.
Your cellulite problem is a common one. Fortunately, finally there are effective ways to minimize this problem. Perhaps the least invasive one is Cellfina™. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina™, combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results and has a high satisfaction rating on RealSelf. Together with Velashape 3, a non invasive procedure to help "shrink wrap the skin" and further minimize cellulite as a combination treatment is perhaps your best chance for taking care of this tough problem. Cellulaze is also a possible treatment but much more invasive
Patient selection and very careful attention to detail are essential for best results. Our own experience in treating these areas has been excellent.
Currently, Cellfina is FDA approved for posterior thighs and buttocks. If you have cellulite throughout your entire leg, you may want to consider Velashape III for the other areas.#Cellfina #Cellulitethighs
Cellfina is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite for at least two years on the buttocks and back of the thighs of women. It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment. It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks. It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser. If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years. Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure. It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding. It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi orUlthera if skin tightening is needed. We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding. It can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as liposuction and BBL or as a stand alone procedure in the office.Since Cellfina outcomes can be based on technique and experience, please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes body contouring to see if Cellfina or other treatments are available to meet your goals. Although initially FDA cleared for posterior thighs, Cellfina can legally be used by physicians on anterior thighs and other areas. More information of long term results are needed to compare the results of Cellfina with those of ThermiTight and other treatments such as Cellulaze. The information provided in Dr. Shelton'sanswer is for educational purposes only and is not intendedto constitute medical advice. CellFina is brand new technology and just launching with indications for the thigh and buttock region only. As we get more and more experience, surgeons will begin to move off-label to other areas but will be a while ... I believe skin tightening technologies and or surgical lifts will be the main treatment in other areas but we will see!Best!Dr Bengtson
The Cellfina procedure isa minimally invasive one that numbs the area around the dimple on your buttocksor thighs, and then treats the connective bands woven throughout the fat thatpull down the skin, creating dimpling seen on the skin’s surface. The Cellfinacellulite procedure works by precisely treating these tethered bands, causingthem to fully release. Similar to a rubberband under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out in as little as three days.Weight gain or weight lossshould not affect the outcomes and the results have been seen for over 2 years(if not more). It is truly a reallyexciting new technology that most women can benefit from.Usually the front of the thighs is skin laxity and not cellulite. I suggest a skin tightening procedure like Pelleve for these areas.
Hello And thank-you for your question!Cellfina has received FDA clearance for the treatment of cellulite of the buttocks and back of the thighs. We are currently limiting our treatments to these areas. With time, further studies will be completed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Cellfina in other areas.Best Regards, Andrew Lyos, MD, FACS
$3,800 - $5,000 range. Cellfina pricing is related to geographic location and how extensive your dimpling is which can dramatically effect the time and effort involved to achieve the very best result. A free consultation will map out where you are in terms of mild, moderate, or more involved.
So far our results with Cellfina have been very good to excellent. However, that is because I apply very stringent criteria for patient selection. I do not treat legs with sagging skin and I do not treat wrinkled skin in the front of the thighs. It might be that Cellfina could make those...
Since Cellfina has only been widely available for a short time, most clinicians do not have enough data to fully answer this question. In my practice, I have performed secondary procedures occasionally. I always wait at least one year after the initial treatment and focus only on areas of...
