Cellfina has FDA clearance to treat cellulite in the thigh and buttock. After physicians gain experience, they may use procedures, off-label, that is, they may do the procedures for indications for which the company had not sought FDA clearance. One would hypothesize that if Cellfina works well on cellulite in one area, that it might work well in others, but until it is used on a signficant number of patients for other areas, one can not assume its effectiveness and safety profile would be the same as the original tested sites. The information provided in Dr. Shelton'sanswer is for educational purposes only and is not intendedto constitute medical advice. At this time Cellfina is indicated to improve the appearance of cellulite for up to 3 years in the thighs and buttocks only. We have seen outstanding results in these areas with this new approach to cellulite treatment. If you are looking to improve dimples and laxity on the arms you could consider a practice, like ours, that develops a personalized comprehensive plan using multiple technologies to treat troublesome areas. We have been incorporating Venus Legacy along with Cellfina to provide skin tightening and overall body contouring, which could be used on the arms.
Your cellulite problem is a common one. Fortunately, finally there are effective ways to minimize this problem. Perhaps the least invasive one is Cellfina™. Cellfina is the only FDA-cleared minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least two years—the longest FDA-cleared duration for a cellulite treatment. A straightforward solution to cellulite, Cellfina™, combines a proven approach with innovative, proprietary technology, to produce precise, long-lasting results and has a high satisfaction rating on RealSelf. Together with Velashape 3, a non invasive procedure to help "shrink wrap the skin" and further minimize cellulite as a combination treatment is perhaps your best chance for taking care of this tough problem. Cellulaze is also a possible treatment but much more invasive
The Cellfina system is intended for long-term improvement in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thighs areas of adult females. All other areas would be considered "off label".#Cellfinaandcellulite #Smoothbuttocks #Smooththighs
Cellfina is an FDA approved minimally invasive procedure that reduces the appearance of cellulite for at least two years on the buttocks and back of the thighs of women. It works by releasing the internal bands that cause the cellulite dimpling and so we have not seen any fat atrophy. You should not see much of a difference with weight gain or loss but this also has not been studied.Other areas of the body with dimpling, it is important to make sure it is truly cellulite before treatment. It is common to have swelling bruising and firmness after the procedure. This can last for a few weeks. It is different than Cellulaze which is a laser. If you have had previous poor results with cellulaze, you can still do Cellfina.Cellfina has shown 100% noticeable improvement and 96% satisfaction in all patients at 2 years. Cellfina is designed to be a one time procedure. It can be used on women with all skin types but caution should be taken if theres a history of keloiding. It can also be combined with other treatments such as Thermi orUlthera if skin tightening is needed. We have done Sculpsure and Coolsculpting if fat reduction is wanted, but its best to wait 3 months to see the results before proceeding. It can also be done at the same time as other procedures such as liposuction and BBL or as a stand alone procedure in the office.Since Cellfina outcomes can be based on technique and experience, please see a board certified plastic surgeon that specializes body contouring to see if Cellfina or other treatments are available to meet your goals. Cellfina has been approved by the FDA for treatment of the thighs and buttocks and those are the areas treated most commonly. Over time, it is likely Cellfina will be used to treat other areas as the demand arises and experience is obtained.
Currently CellFina is being used for the buttock thigh area. As we get more experience with the technology it may also be used in other regions where banding is the causative factor. In the arms the problem is usually more skin laxity so it may or may not have future applications here.Best!Dr Bengtson
If you do not find a doctor in you area, it might be worth the trip to Los Angeles! The Cellfina procedure is a minimally invasive one that numbs the area around the dimple on your buttocks or thighs, and then treats the connective bands woven throughout the fat that pull down the skin, creating dimpling seen on the skin’s surface. The Cellfina cellulite procedure works by precisely treating these tethered bands, causing them to fully release. Similar to a rubberband under tension, once released, the treated skin bounces back to smooth itself out in as little as three days.Weight gain or weight loss should not affect the outcomes and the results have been seen for over 2 years (if not more). It is truly a really exciting new technology that most women can benefit from. Currently, it is only studied on the buttocks and thighs. But further research continues and it is possible that it can be used on other areas in the future. For now, you can use Pellefirm to reduce the appearance of cellulite on other areas of your body.
Cellfina has received FDA clearance for the treatment of cellulite of the buttocks and thighs. We are currently limiting our treatments to these areas. With time, further studies will be completed to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of Cellfina in other areas.Best Regards, Andrew Lyos, MD, FACS
I would not use it on the arm. Results may be unpredictable and may leave laxity and/or scarring.
The best treatment for cellulite is Cellfina. However, a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement. I recommend Cellfina in combination with Sculptra injections and body treatments like Exilis Ultra, Venus Legacy, and Cellutone / ZWave. For patients who are also looking for fat...
I’ve treated patients for that issue successfully with Macroneedling (CIT) which stands for collagen induction therapy. You need 3 to 5 sessions but results are noticeable after the first time already. Good luck !
Hi! It looks like there might be a band holding the skin to the underlying tissue. This band could be cut to release the overlying skin and decrease the dimple. If it does not completely go away, you can always have dermal fillers, fat or renuva injected into the dimple to help the appearance...
