Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on your exact situation. For less significant issues, there are nonsurgical treatments: To give the eyebrows a nice lift, we use injectable fillers to improve the eyebrow, upper eye, forehead and temple. A filler is placed on the bone and in the fat pads of these areas to contour and lift without it looking overdone. We use cannulas to limit pain and swelling.Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if there is more substantial eyebrow drooping or asymmetry. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
Yes, brow lift can address uneven eyebrows. The ideal brow lifting technique to address uneven eyebrows is the trichophytic (hairline) brow lift. This allows a cosmetically pleasing incision and will allow for excising more skin on one side than the other to improve the asymmetry.Good luck
Hi - With a brow lift technique that removes actual skin I believe you can get the result you are looking for. This can be done in a variety of ways depending on what contours they have now. Your surgeon will evaluate your face in it's entirety and recommend the best treatment for you. All the best - Dr. Bekanich
Thank you for your question. It is difficult to give specific comments in your case without photos or an in person exam. There are many causes of brow asymmetry. One of the most common is a ptosis (droop) of the eyelid on the side with the higher brow. The brain will sense the droop and compensate with brow elevation. This can only be determined with an in person exam and consultation with a fellowship trained Oculoplastic surgeon. There are many other causes of brow asymmetry and this may even be normal asymmetry. An in person exam from a qualified surgeon is your best bet.
A brow lift is only performed for patients who have low set eyebrows. Everyone has some degree of asymmetry, this can be an addressed at the time of the brow lift procedure. A full set of facial photographs are required to make a determination about being a candidate for the surgical procedure. If there's only a slight difference between the eyebrows, Botox can be the most conservative treatment to improve the asymmetry. For many examples of brow lift surgery, please see the link and the video below
A browlift can correct many types of brow asymmetry. An in-office exam or photos would be needed to address your individual concerns. Seek out a consultation with a board-certified surgeon. Best wishes.
As mentioned below, hydrogen peroxide diluted to 50% strength in water will help loosen and remove the dry blood. After this, baby shampoo will also help. Avoid submerging or scrubbing directly on the incision sites.
Numbness after a brow lift is caused by stretching or disruption of the sensory nerves of the forehead. This is common with many brow lift procedures. With an endoscopic brow lift the nerves generally stay intact and the numbness typically resolves in 2 to 3 months....
Thank you for your question. I suggest that you start by discussing with your board certified facial plastic surgeon. Best wishes,
