As a plastic surgeon, I often address concerns about combining cosmetic procedures with medical implants. This topic is quite familiar to me, as my husband who is a neurosurgeon, performs Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgeries regularly. For someone with a DBS implant considering a facelift, it's important to note that DBS incisions and leads are typically near the frontal hairline and behind the ears, in the occipital area. Standard facelift incisions, focusing on the lower face, do not interfere with these areas. However, if a neck lift is part of your plan, caution is needed due to the proximity of the incisions to the DBS leads.I highly recommend coordinating with both your neurosurgeon and plastic surgeon before proceeding. This ensures that the approach to your facelift, particularly if a neck lift is involved, is safe and does not risk impacting the DBS system. Alternatively, opting for a facelift without a neck lift is a safer option that avoids any potential issues with the DBS leads.Safety and the integrity of both the DBS system and the cosmetic procedure are paramount. Proper planning and collaboration between your healthcare teams are essential for a successful outcome.
The presence of DBS implants and wires might impact the surgical approach and create potential risks during the facelift procedure.Your medical team, including your neurologist and plastic surgeon, should collaborate to assess the risks, consider your overall health, and determine the best course of action. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history and the specifics of your case.I hope this helps, best of luck !
An examination is needed to see what actually could be done with the implant in place. You may have to avoid anything surgery behind the ears, but could have a chin tuck and mid to upper face work possibly. The plastic surgeon would need to know exactly where the wires were placed. With this implant, you are not a candidate for any type of radiofrequency treatments. Also, it is most important to avoid any infections in the area and take antibiotics for any dental work.
For this, I suggest you talk to both your neurosurgery provider and plastic surgeon to make sure everyone’s on the same page.If both agree, then it wouldn’t be a bad idea for the two providers to communicate so there are no surprises. There are no yes or no answers to your question. It depends on each providers perspective.Best,Mats Hagstrom, MD
Hello, my first offer is mini facelift at your age. it will help you to solve your problems. Exact decision should be taken after face to face consultation.Have a good day
The only permanent solution is death. Otherwise, your face will change as you age, and your jawline will be much less defined. A facelift at your age will not give much change. You can do Secret, micro-needling with radiofrequency to help tighten and can continue to boost as desired.
Definitely the BBL first. If you do the facial procedures first, when you go in a short time to receive general anesthesia, the anesthesiologist will have to work around fresh wounds which is not ideal. Provided that your blood count (hematocrit and hemoglobin in specific) are good, you should...
