Facial aesthetics is primarily determined by facial bone structure. This is particularly true for young people. Soft tissue coverage tends to be far more consistent from person to person and what differentiates those who have more attractive features tend to be based on primary bone structure. Individuals who have a Mandible that is small or lacking in forward projection in comparison to the Maxilla tend to have the following characteristics. Early loss of jawline definition, premature double chin and premature jowls. these individuals also tend to have an overbite, dental occlusion, and on profile views the upper lip will have more forward projection than the lower lip. The lack of projection of the Mandible causes the underlying platysma to drape the neck in a more oblique fashion. The primary problem is not based on fat distribution, but rather bone structure. Fillers don’t and implants don’t fix the problem because they don’t move the origin of the platysma muscle. Delivering consistent quality, liposuction results is more difficult than most people realize. The number of plastic surgeons to truly mastered this procedure are in a small minority. Not all plastic surgeons are good at Liposuction. Addressing the primary problem, which is inevitably based on bone structure is inherently, complicated and difficult. Recognize that soft tissue solutions, attempting to treat a skeletal problem is inevitably going to give a partial improvement at best. This is why you’re not getting a definitive answers. Well done, Liposuction can give it nice improvement and individuals who have sufficient amount of subcutaneous fat, and are of a young age. With age as skin elasticity is lost Patients eventually become lesser candidates for Liposuction and better candidate for a facelift. At age 50 patience typically lose being good candidate for Liposuction and much better candidate for a facelift. This follows an age spectrum and patients should focus on understanding their candidacy for various procedures, as well as choosing the best provider. During each consultation, ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of before, and after pictures of previous patient who had similar facial characteristics to your own for whatever procedure they are recommending. A truly experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you the before and after pictures of at least 50 previous patients. In the end provider selection is probably the most important variable. Understanding your own candidacy for any particular procedure combined with provider selection are generally the two single most important variables when it comes to quality cosmetic surgery outcomes.
