I am wondering what is recommended for my eyes. I hate when I smile, I get large bags under my eyes, my eyebrows are very low, and my eyes get very small. I have thought about a brow lift, but I don't know if at 23 I am too young.
Answer: Brows and bags In your picture you are smiling and this can alter the natural configuration of the brows and upper and lower lids (ie, at rest your brows may actually be a bit higher than depicted in the photo). However, you do have somewhat of a low-set brow and this is likely just part of your anatomy and not due to aging. There is no "right" age to have a browlift done if the brows are actually low. Having said that, at your young age, I would make sure you thoroughly research your options and see a reputable surgeon prior to moving forward with any procedure. Personally, I would lean more towards observation without surgery but an endoscopic brow lift would not be unreasonable. With regard to your lower lid "bags", these really aren't bags at all in the sense that they are not aging changes, but rather a sign of youthful fullness in this area due to contraction of the eyelid musculature when you smile. As others have mentioned, very small amounts of Botox in this area may be helpful with this.Overall, I think your most important decision to make is to find an experienced oculoplastic surgeon who can do a thorough in-person evaluation and discuss your treatment options with you (which should include no treatment). Together you can come up with a reasonable decision together. Good luck!

Answer: Too young? Age is often overemphasized in plastic surgery. If the "deformity" exists, is not likely to improve, surgery will not negatively affect something else and the patient is mature enough to understand/accept goals/risks/limits then surgery may be an option. From your single photo you provided, you appear to have a low position heavier brow than average. If this continues to be of "enough" concern to you, surgery may be an option. I have done brow lifts in patients your age. Remember though, the second word in "plastic surgery" is surgery, it has risks. The "bags" under your eyes are not bags, but contracted muscle below the eyelashes in the upper part of the lower eyelid. This is actually a characteristic of youthfulness though there are surgical methods to improve this.
