4 L of fat is a lot of fat. The maximum recommended to be suctioned at one time and still send the patient home safely o the same day is 5L. Too much suctioning can lead to unsafe fluid shifts in the body. It is hard to know how much fat would be needed for you without seeing photographs and examining you but the answer to your question is yes

For some authors more than 4 or 5 liters of fat is considered big volume lipo. The more fat a surgeon removes, the more chance of getting complications. So is important to understand, lipo is the best tool to remove extra fat deposits that exercise and diet cannot eliminate. If you planning a lipo, 50% of the outcome depends on the surgery and the other 50% depends on the patient exercise program anf a dietary plan. 4 L of fat is the legal maximal amount of fat that can be removed with a liposuction procedure in the state of Florida. Most plastic surgeons and some other states have 5 L that’s the maximum amount that should be removed in a single outpatient procedure. 4 L represents 80% of 5 L so it is 80% of what the most amount that could be removed with a single procedure it would be in the state of California if someone was a candidate for having that much fat removed.
Typically patients that need this much fat removed are obese and should lose weight.
