I have a very round face. I’ve had countouring fillers in my chin and jaw area, and I’ve had my masseter area treated with Botox however there’s been no noticeable change in the slimming of my moon face. It’s also worse when I smile. What can I do to slim my face? Am I a candidate for buccal fat removal? Thanks!

Hi. A front view of your face is missing. However, if you have fullness in your lower face - you would be a good candidate for buccal fat removal. Quite often, it can be combined with chin and neck liposculpting to slim the face further.

Thank you for your query. There  are multiple ways of “slimming” the face, several of which you have tried. Buccal  fat pad excision may help, which can be recommended only after a proper physical examination. There are procedures for the bones as well but looking at the single picture you have posted, these may not be appropriate. Please find an experienced Board certified Plastic surgeon near you who can fully evaluate your face with 3 D imaging, radiological studies etc. to help you with all your concerns.

Good Afternoon! Buccal fat removal may be an option. This involves an incision inside the mouth. The buccal fat pad is removed which is often described as "walnut-sized" in volume. The results provide slimming from the cheeks to the jawline. I do caution my patients that the result is subtle, but certainly nice. The recovery is fairly easy. Most describe tenderness with chewing for 1-2 weeks. Morpheus8 microneedling may help to provide toning. Hope this helps!
