Thank you for your question. While the technical answer is yes, I would strongly advise against doing so. PMMA is a permanent implant that works well the majority of the time, but it can result in granulomas long term. This may be especially difficult to remove if there is formation on the nose. Silicone is another implant that can lead to complications long term. For augmentation, using native cartilage is usually the safest and most well-studied technique. I hope that helps, and all the best.-Dr. P
Bellafill is PMMA, a permanent soft tissue filler called polymethyl methacrylate. This filler may be highly reactive in some people, and it’s use in the nose is of questionable feasibility. For permanent non-surgical nose job procedures, we prefer microdroplet Silikon-1000 injections. Hope this helps. Dr Joseph
It’s an interesting idea that I’ve never heard of. Doing this for purely cosmetic reasons is probably a recipe for disaster. There are other ways augment the bridge and there is ample experience with them. Methylmethcrylate cure hard as a rock and probably would damage the overlying skin
Hi there! I'm sure you could devise some way to do this. But, PMMA can be very reactive within the tissues and difficult to remove. It's more of a permanent option, for example, to obliterate a sinus cavity (which its usage has even gone out of favor). If possible, I advocate for no foreign material in the nose such as silicone or GoreTex, for example. Use your own material and the infection rate and subsequent complications should be lower. Hope that helps!
If your surgeon used permanent sutures during your rhinoplasty, it’s possible you may be “spitting” the sutures. If this is the case, removal of the sutures may be indicated, and this may not lead to changes in how your nose looks. Please discuss this with your surgeon. Thank you. Dr Joseph
I believe that Rhinoplasty surgery can improve the look of your nose by reducing the width of the tip and reducing the small dorsal bump. Another intervention that will improve the aesthetics would be an Alar Base Reduction to reduce the width of your alar base.
Hi @Bellarose2025! I recommend seeing an expert rhinoplasty specialist for an in person examination. There are several options for you that can be determined after examination. A rhinoplasty in my opinion is one of the most difficult procedures to perform. In my practice, I utilize piezosurgery...
