I am 1 month from transax BA and have had sore bands from armpit almost to elbow since day 1...PS says scar tissue and needs to be stretched and massaged to break up, any other suggestions to speed up healing?

Thank you for your question.What you are describing is named Mondor's Cord. It is inflammation of the superficial veins and is treated with anti-inflammatory medication and warm compresses. It gets better.To be sure, see two or more board certified plastic surgeons for a complete evaluation to make sure that you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have surgery.I hope this helps.

These are typical for an armpit incision - I have performed thousands of the armpit breasts augmentations and some develop "cord" like feeling. The good news is they ALL go away - the best way to speed up recovery is warm compresses and stretching again they always go away

If scar massage doesn't relieve the tension, eventual scar release may be considered.  This can be done under local anesthesia in the office.  Congratulations on your great results!

These bands are not unusual and are due to a swollen or inflammed vein.  No surgical treatment is needed just ibuprofen and stretching.  It generally takes 6 weeks to resolve.

These "bands" may not be scar and you probably have Mondor's syndrome which are thrombosed veins leading to the breast.  Warm compresses and anti inflammatories may help.  The good news is they generally resolve with timeDr Corbin
