Is it possible to have illness after having butt implants? Had them for 3 years.

Hi,Thanks for your inquiry. Similar to autoimmune issues related to breast implants (known commonly as breast implant illness) you can have a reaction to the foreign body that can lead to illness. The first step is to make sure you see your primary care doctor to rule out any other causes of your headaches and nausea. With regards to the numbness in the legs, this can be from mechanical pressure or compression of the nerves from the implants. You should see your plastic surgeon to evaluate the implants and consider consultation with a neurologist to evaluate the numbness in the legs. This may lead to imaging like an MRI. If your numbness in the legs are truly related to your implants then you may be able to submit it to insurance with the supporting consultations and documents. Hope this helps!Dr. Dev
