Hi! I had my buttimplants done 3 november 2022 and got a infection Right after. now 7 months later i have decided to take them out and do a bbl at the same time. My implants are intramuscular which means half of the implant is in the muscle and the upper half is hidden behind fat. Will this turn out good? As you can see on one side the fat died because of the infection and i had to cleanse the fluid under the implant 2 weeks after my first surgery. I have a surgery booked in August
Answer: Hello Hello, if your buttock implants had an infection, the most advisable thing is that they remove the implants when they detected the infection, now when they remove them I do not recommend transferring fat in the same surgery, the fat transfer is very delicate, it is better to remove them and wait a few months for the fat transfer

Answer: BBL and dual plane buttock implants problem… Allow me to answer your question as best i can based upon your photos. However, please keep in mind that an in-person, or at least a virtual, consultation with physical exam is first necessary before any legitimate evaluation or final surgical recommendations can be made. Unfortunately, you have the classic contour deformity and obvious implant visibility problem associated with dual plane (half within the gluteus muscle and half on top of the muscle) buttock implants and BBL. After the BBL fat melts away, it uncovers the fact that the upper half of the implant is not within the muscle. Simply removing the implant and attempting BBL is sure to deliver a disappointing result in this case. You will have minimal gain in fullness and projection from the BBL. Typically what needs to happen is to have these implants removed, a new total intramuscular pocket made, and a new buttock implant (eg Stanton Anatomic®️ implant) placed. This will provide the most reliable permanent result with fullness and projection. Please keep in mind that an extremely few number of board-certified plastic surgeons specialize in these buttock implants so be sure to consult with one that is reputable and experienced. Unfortunately you may have to travel long and far away from home to find this particular surgeon. Glad to help.

Answer: Gluteal, implant complications Gluteal implants come with high complication rates as you now know. I would not recommend grafting fat that you remove the implant. They should be done procedures. Different plastic surgeons will have different opinions. Your candidacy for fat transfer needs to be determined after complete healing post explantation. Complicated situation is best assessed and discussed during in person consultations. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD

Answer: BBL , Butt implants Combining implant removal with a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) can be a complex procedure and should be carefully planned and executed. Since you've had a history of infection and complications following your initial butt implant surgery, there are some important considerations to keep in mind: Infection Risk: Given your history of infection, your surgeon will likely take extra precautions to minimize the risk of infection during your revision surgery. Antibiotics and sterile techniques will likely be employed to reduce the chance of recurrence. Tissue Health: The fact that you experienced fat necrosis (death of fat tissue) on one side due to infection indicates that your tissues might be more compromised in that area. This could impact the outcome of the BBL procedure, as the viability of the fat transferred during a BBL depends on the health of the surrounding tissue. Revision Surgery: Combining implant removal with a BBL can be challenging due to scar tissue from the previous surgery, potential differences in tissue quality, and the presence of the implant. Your surgeon will need to carefully navigate these factors to achieve your desired results. Realistic Expectations: Given your medical history and the complications you've experienced, it's important to have realistic expectations about the potential outcome of the combined procedure. Discuss your goals and concerns openly with your surgeon, and make sure you both have a clear understanding of what can be achieved. Consultation: Before proceeding with the surgery, have a thorough consultation with your plastic surgeon. They should review your medical history, assess your current condition, and discuss the potential risks and benefits of the combined procedure. Make sure you're comfortable with their approach and expertise. Recovery and Aftercare: The recovery process for a combined implant removal and BBL can be more complex than either procedure alone. Make sure you understand the post-operative care instructions and follow them diligently to support optimal healing and results. I would probably advise to take put the implants totally under the muscle and complete with fat grafting only if there are no signs of infection in the area. Given the complexity of your situation, it's crucial to work closely with an experienced and board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in revision surgeries and complex cases. They will be able to provide you with the best guidance and recommendations based on your individual circumstances. I hope this helped Best regards Dr Layth Gurgia Consultant plastic surgeon Stockholm Sweden
